Whimsydale Mermaid Tails Types

What shaped mermaid tails will you be able to find here at Whimsydale Mermaid coming 2023? Hello and welcome to our Whimsydale Insider article to show you what fabric mermaid tails you can expect from us and how they will be constructed.

A new tail design will be released each month. Most months there will be a design on a Nautilus tail with a different fluke shape each month. Every design released will be available on the Tetra line of tails, except for Kelpie designs. Kelpie designs are one-of-a-kind designs and will only be made on the one unique tail shape. Expect a minimum of twelve designs a year from us! Read on to find out what Tetra, Nautilus and Kelpie tails are and what inspired each of the fluke shapes we will have available. 

To start we will share with you our Tetra tail line. These tails are made specifically to fit a particular monofin. All our tails are made from dye-sublimated 95% polyester 5% spandex Scuba double knit fabric. Tetra tails will sport an invisible zipper at the ankles down the fluke for easy insertion of your monofin. Tetra tails don’t come with any extra fins, allowing them to be the cheapest option on our website for a fabric mermaid tail experience.

The Tetra tails fit the monofins;

Mahina Merfin monofin by Mahina Mermaid. This monofin can be purchased through Mermaid Linden, Body Glove and through us here at Whimsydale Mermaid. Mahina Merfin Monofin – Whimsydale Mermaid. 

The Elite Oasis monofin by Fin Fun. This monofin can only be purchased through their website. Oasis Elite Professional Monofin (finfunmermaid.com). Custom Tetra tails to fit the Elite monofin are unavailable by Whimsydale Mermaid. Only pre-designed tails will be available to fit the Elite monofin.

The Sweam Merfolk monofin by Sweam So Dive. This monofin can be purchased through So Dive and through us here at Whimsydale Mermaid. Swea'm Merfolk Monofin – Whimsydale Mermaid. 

The Luna Emerald M monofin by FINIS Swim. This monofin can be purchased through FINIS Swim and through us here at Whimsydale Mermaid. FINIS Luna Monofin – Whimsydale Mermaid. 

Linden monofin by Mermaid Linden. This monofin can be purchased through Mermaid Linden, Body Glove and through us here at Whimsydale Mermaid. Linden Monofin – Whimsydale Mermaid. 

Fish Fin monofin by Lucia Mermaid. This monofin can be purchased through Mermaid Lucia and through us here at Whimsydale Mermaid. Lucia FishFin Monofin – Whimsydale Mermaid. 

 

The next type of tail you can expect to see from us is the Nautilus mermaid tail. There are five fluke shapes. These tails come with a big fluke and vinyl monofin casing allowing for different monofin usage. Allowing more flexibly in your monofin collection. All our tails are made from dye-sublimated 95% polyester 5% spandex Scuba double knit fabric. Nautilus tails will sport an invisible zipper at the ankles down the length of the fluke for easy insertion of your vinyl and monofin. Nautilus tails come with hip and calf fins. The shape of the fins depends on the fluke shape. This gives a more flowy fabric mermaid tail experience compared to our Tetra line.

The Nautilus tail shapes are as follows.

The Ambrosia Nautilus Tail. This fluke shape is inspired by the classic common mermaid tail shape found in illustrations and artworks. 

The Delta Nautilus Tail. This fluke shape is inspired by Betta fish tail.

Saga Nautilus Tail. This fluke shape is inspired by the old school Disney the Little Mermaid tail shape.

Electra Nautilus Tail. This fluke shape is inspired by the classic tail in the movie “Splash”.

Nova Nautilus Tail. This fluke shape is inspired by the Crown tail Betta fish.

 

Here we are at our last type of Mermaid tail shape you will find here at Whimsydale Mermaid. These are called Kelpie tails. Kelpie tails are a rare tail. You won’t see these very often. Kelpie tails are a one-of-a-kind fluke shape and will only have the one shape made in the design it comes in. Our other tails will have designs shared between one Nautilus fluke shape and the whole line of Tetra tails. Allowing anyone, no matter your monofin collection or mermaid skill set, to have a chance at purchasing their favorite design. Kelpie tails, however, will have a unique fluke shape, with a vinyl monofin casing and an invisible zipper at the ankles down the length of the fluke for easy insertion of your vinyl and a variety of monofins.
